About Me: I became aware of the CEM program almost on accident. I knew I wanted to be in Engineering and was leaning towards Chemical Engineering. During the middle of my program at a community college I was offered an internship at a local construction firm and absolutely loved it. I grew up on a farm so I was used to working with my hands and head to solve problems but the internship took my love for building things and blew it up to a much larger scale. After the first summer working at the construction firm I went looking for 4 year programs and found Virginia Tech’s Construction Engineering and Management. Soon later I toured the program and knew that the program was right for me. The people within the CEM program are all genuine and great people. I love CEM because they tailor the program to what will be seen in the field. Some of my hobbies outside of classes are hunting, fishing, gardening, and I am trying to get into golfing.
